ALSO: Today at 1pm in front of Eco Goods, 1130 Pacific Ave, Santa Cruz, CA.Tori and Ben will be performing their “Go With The Flow” duo of guitar looping and Power Vinyasa!

Tori Reynolds will lead a 90-minute power vinyasa flow taught to a soundtrack Ben Rivet creates while moving through the sequence.  The soundtrack acts as a metronome to pace the breath throughout class. The music is consistent enough to enhance the focus and fluidity of the class, yet varies just enough to promote awareness with the mind and body at key points throughout the flow. According to the class and moment, the flow and music are ever-changing.

“I am a yoga instructor from Dayton, Ohio I teach a class called GO W/ THE FLOW with my friend Ben Rivet and we have linked up with Austin based cycling organization BikeBot to put on large community social events in 9 major cities along the west coast.

Our first event will be held this Friday, May 25 , with a Bike Bash (a social gathering including local music, bike raffle, and more) to follow the next evening.

We are very excited for these events which will be taking us through your area on our way to Santa Barbara during the time of July 16th-July 19th.

Though we have some free time on our schedule so I wanted to reach out to you as we’re hoping to spread awareness of the yoga rides in San Francisco on July 13th and in Santa Barbara July 20th as well as team up with local studios that would be interested in hosting GO W/ THE FLOW classes.

Here is a brief description of what GO W/ THE FLOW is: Ben and I present a 90-minute power vinyasa flow that I teach to a soundtrack Ben creates as we move through the sequence. We believe above all else, breath awareness is key to a powerful practice, so the soundtrack acts as a metronome to pace the breath throughout class. The music is consistent enough to enhance the focus and fluidity of the class, yet varies just enough to promote awareness with the mind and body at key points throughout the flow (according to what we do, the flow and music are ever changing).

Watsonville resident and pro cyclist Ben Jacques-Maynes placed second overall in the Nature Valley Grand Prix, a four-day stage race event which concluded in Minnesota on Sunday.

“It feels great to be back to my normal self, after a hard winter of health problems,” Jacques-Maynes said in a Twitter interview. “I hope to continue to race well for the rest of the year.”

Jacques-Maynes suffered a broken collarbone in the 2011 Tour of California and his recovery was a long one.

The UC Santa Cruz grad, who rides for Bissell Pro Cycling, was sixth in the time trial and 35th in the criterium on the first day of the Grand Prix.

Following that, he placed 28th in the Uptown Minneapolis Crit, eighth in the Menomonie Road Race and 17th in the Stillwater Crit, building to an overall time of 7 hours, 32 minutes, 33 seconds — just one second ahead of third-place finisher Andres Diaz [Team Exergy] and 17 seconds back of winner Tom Zirbel [Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies].

The third stage, the Cannon Falls Road Race, was canceled due to weather, according to the event’s website.

Jacques-Maynes’ twin brother Andy, who rides for Kenda/5-Hour Energy, placed seventh overall after two top-10 finishes.

Ben Jacques-Maynes said he next plans to compete in the Fourth of July Criterium in Davis and the Testarossa Velodrome Challenge in San Jose.

Brett Gotcher, a Watsonville native now living in Flagstaff, Ariz., finished a close second to Abdi Abdirahman in the USA Half Marathon Championships on Saturday in Duluth, Minn.
