Hollie Estupinian, who ran the sixth fastest time of any American woman in the Boston Marathon earlier this year, is scheduled to speak at a Women in the Spotlight networking luncheon in Aptos on July 25th.

Estupinian will speak about staying motivated to reach goals and finding one’s personal best at the second annual event, which is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bittersweet Bistro.

Estupinian, a Soquel resident and mother of two, is also the defending champion of the Nike Women’s Marathon – San Francisco.

Women in the Spotlight is presented by the Aptos Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $35.

Aptos resident and native Virginian Matt Chrabot, 29, placed fifth in the New York City Triathlon on Sunday.

Chrabot, who is originally from Virginia Beach, finished the Olympic-distance event in 1 hour, 49 minutes, 35.3 seconds. Jordan Jones of Golden, Colo., won in 1:45:03.65.

Chrabot completed the 1.5-kilometer swim in 11:48, the 40k bike in 1:00:52 and the 10k run in 33:17.

Corralitos resident and pro cyclist Andy Jacques-Maynes placed fourth in the San Rafael Twilight Criterium on Saturday.

The Kenda/5-Hour Energy team rider crossed the finish line behind winner Eric Riggs of Antelope [Team Mike's Bikes], runner-up Jared Barrilleaux of Petaluma [Cal Giant/Specialized] and third-place finisher James LaBerge of Napa [Team Mike's Bikes] in the men’s Pro/Cat 1/2 race.

Jacques-Maynes’ twin brother Ben Jacques-Maynes, a Watsonville resident and fellow UC Santa Cruz alum, placed 17th for Bissell Pro Cycling.

Scotts Valley’s Rob Evans was the only other cyclist from Santa Cruz County to break into the top 25. He was 24th for McGuire Cycling Team.

In other divisions, the sole other county rider with a top-five finish was Santa Cruz’s Steven Sperling, who placed third [men's Cat 3].
