The Mavericks Moments documentary series’ most recent release, “Danger,” will show at 8 p.m. at the R. Blitzer Gallery in Santa Cruz on Saturday, March 24.

The film, by Rocky Romano, looks at the very dangerous break out of Half Moon Bay with interviews from surfers such as Anthony Tashnick, Ken Collins, Savannah Shaughnessy and many others.

The Santa Cruz premier costs $10 and a can of food to benefit Grind Out Hunger. There will also be giveaways for Volcom gear and 75 tickets to the Mavericks Invitational Festival. For more information, go here.

The window for the Mavericks Invitational is quickly approaching. It closes in just 10 days. If the swell doesn’t reach contest hights, the festival will be held on March 31.

NOTE: Are you a local filmmaker? Surfrider is looking for submissions for its Surf-Shorts Film Festival (for short films of surfing, not long films of surf shorts). Find the details and entry form at the Surfrider site. The deadline is April 5. Anyone can enter the general category. The junior category is only open to those 16 and under.
