Watsonville resident and UC Santa Cruz alum Ben Jacques-Maynes rode to a seventh-place finish for Bissell Pro Cycling and helped lift his team to third at the Tour of the Battenkill in Cambridge, N.Y., on Sunday.

Jacques-Maynes crossed the finish line of the Pro Invitational in 4 hours, 56 minutes, 19 seconds — just 25 seconds back of Francisco Mancebo [Competitive Cyclist Racing Team, who won in 4:55:54]. Jacques-Maynes’ time matched the fourth- through eighth-place finishers, according to results on USACycling.com.

The Competitive Cyclist Racing Team won the team title and Team Optum Presented by Kelly Benefit Strategies placed second.

Bissell remains in the top spot of national rankings by USA Cycling.

Jacques-Maynes is ranked No. 8 in the individual standings and his twin brother, Andy Jacques-Maynes, who rides for Kenda/5-Hour Energy, is ranked 11th.
