Berkeley resident Stephanie Hines won the Olympic Mighty Mermaid Triathlon at Capitola Beach on Sunday.

Hines, 29, completed the Olympic-distance women’s event in 2 hours, 38 minutes, 24 seconds. She finished the 1.5-kilometer swim in 28:51, the 40k bike in 1:18:57 and the 10k run in 42:58.

Hines was followed by Piedmont’s Michelle Curach-Turner in second place [2:43:56] and Los Gatos’ Jackie McCleary in third place [2:49:41].
